The Office Tools for Your Job Web site, expanded in Sept. 2004, delivers free training materials and Office document templates for many specific occupations. The site could complement user training done by IT departments and solution providers, and it helps showcase the capabilities of Office 2003 for Microsoft and its resellers. However, the site is at best a small lever to push Office sales.

More Than 20 Job Types Covered

At its launch with Office Online in 2003, the Tools for Your Job site covered generic business activities: sales, human resources, finance, and “operations” (management). The new site, in contrast, covers more than 20 occupations, including elementary school teachers, litigators, and personal financial advisers. (To see some of the occupations covered, see the illustration “Tools for Your Job Site“.) The site has instructional content on using Office for particular tasks within each profession, such as preparing discovery requests (for litigators) or planning an open house (for teachers).
