  • Microsoft Loop, currently in preview, is a Web-based application to help users collaborate in real time on task lists and other components of a project.
  • Loop is built on OneDrive and Office for the Web technologies and offers new ways to organize, share, and work concurrently on content.
  • If successful, it could encourage more virtual collaboration in place of older methods like e-mail attachments and in-person meetings.

Microsoft Loop is a Web-based application for project collaboration. It offers project workspaces to control access, multiple pages for storing content and links similar to OneNote, and a set of embeddable shared components that can be accessed outside of Loop; for example, the body of an e-mail. Loop, which competes with third-party offerings like Coda and Notion, could improve real-time collaboration between project members, especially those in remote locations. However, the preview lacks important features like offline use and eDiscovery and requires user and administrator training.
