Microsoft offers a range of free productivity applications from the iTunes Store for use with Apple iPad and iPad Mini tablets. Many applications require an associated server application or hosted service (such as Lync Server or SharePoint Server), and several of them require subscriptions to Microsoft-hosted services. This chart shows current iPad productivity applications from Microsoft. It describes their use, identifies supporting servers or services required, and flags any paid user subscription licenses or fees required. The chart also identifies what iOS devices the application supports and where it can be downloaded.

All listed applications are free to download. Many require connectivity to a hosted service, but some will work with recent on-premises server applications as well, as noted. When a server application is used, Client Access Licenses and other types of licenses not listed here will typically be required.

A Universal application means the same application works on iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch versus only running on Apple iPads and iPad Mini devices.
