- Customers should begin inventory of Office 365 connectors in Teams to determine which connectors will need custom development to replace.
On July 3, 2024, Microsoft announced that Office 365 connectors in Teams would be retired effective Aug. 14, 2024. After customer complaints, the retirement date was extended to Dec. 31, 2025 for existing Office 365 connectors. However, those existing Office 365 connectors will require updates before Dec. 31, 2024 to continue working, and customers will have to use tools like Workflows (formerly called the Power Automate app in Teams) and custom development using Power Automate or Microsoft Graph APIs or to create new channel connections between Teams and other services. Customers should take steps now to understand which Office 365 connectors are in use and what steps they may need to take to ensure continued functionality.
