Analyst ReportWindows 10 Anniversary Update
The Windows 10 Anniversary Update was released on Aug. 2, 2016, marking the first anniversary of the OS’s general availability. This feature upgrade (previously code-named Redstone) was released as Current Branch and a new Long-Term Servicing Branch. It will become Current Branch for Business at a future date, likely close to the end of 2016 or early 2017. It improves security features and delivers browser and user interface enhancements. Although the proposed feature improvements look good on paper, some changes could prove quite disruptive, and customers should not expect all advertised features to appear, as some previously proposed features or enhancements may be cut to meet the schedule.
Nondisruptive Changes
Some of the feature changes in Windows 10 Anniversary Update are unlikely to create any disruptive changes, including some that reduce risks from compromised devices and strengthen authentication security changes and changes to the user interface. Such changes include the following:
