Charts & IllustrationsOffice 365 Groups Shared Resources
Groups are collaboration spaces that associate resources like file libraries, shared calendars, a shared inbox, a notebook, and other resources with an Azure Active Directory (AAD) group. Many Microsoft collaborations offerings are now built on Groups, for both identification and resources. Shown here, Groups owns resources like a calendar and inbox, as well as SharePoint-hosted document libraries and a OneNote notebook. Groups memberships and other security information are stored in AAD, not shown here.
Other applications, built using the Groups technology, can share some or all the resources offered by Groups. OneDrive for Business, for example, provides access to document libraries that are hosted within SharePoint and accessed through Groups.
Dynamics 365 is not part of Office 365, but can use Group resources to share information with users outside of Dynamics 365. For example, Dynamics 365 sales users can share customer proposals with legal and financial staff through Groups.
