Analyst ReportWindows Analytics Leverages Operations Management Suite
Windows Analytics lets organizations process the diagnostic data Microsoft collects from Windows devices. Previously, only Microsoft could analyze this diagnostic data. Now an organization can deploy three solutions in its Operations Management Suite (OMS) workspace and use Log Analytics to determine whether its devices can be upgraded, determine the status of feature and quality updates, and detect issues before they become serious problems. However, the reliance on the OMS means the organization may need to pay for any Azure-hosted resources consumed by the solutions to analyze and store the data.
Analyzing Telemetry Data
Windows 7 devices enrolled in the Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP), and all Windows 10 devices, automatically and continually submit diagnostic data to Microsoft for analysis. With Windows 10, Microsoft refers to the process of collection and the data collected as Windows 10 telemetry. (For more information about the level of telemetry data collected, see the sidebar “Windows 10 Telemetry“.)
