Windows 10 express update delivery requires minimal file downloads to update PCs and can help bring older systems up to date regardless of their current state. Changes in Microsoft’s delivery options (beginning in 2019) will require organizations to reexamine their update processes.

Windows Updating Approaches for Enterprises

Windows 10 receives two primary types of updates:

  • Quality updates that contain comprehensive patches and fixes that arrive monthly, or potentially more frequently
  • Feature updates, sometimes called versions, that arrive twice per year.
