Charts & IllustrationsAzure Pricing Calculator
The Azure pricing calculator can help customers estimate Azure costs before deployment. The Web-based tool allows customers to select Azure services to create a deployment scenario. Customers specify parameters and usage quantities for each service instance in the scenario, and the calculator provides the current price rates (based on the customer type, such as Enterprise Agreement [EA], and accounting for selected savings options, such as reservations) and performs the calculations to arrive at the expected monthly cost.
The calculator does not always automatically include additional services that may be required to use certain services. For example, some services require separately billed Azure Storage instances, but the customer must be aware to add these into calculator scenarios.
Shown here is an Azure VM instance added to a pricing scenario within the calculator. (Some of the calculator’s UI has been removed from the illustration for brevity.) The customer can specify factors such as the OS to run, service tier, region, type and number of VMs, the elapsed time they are allocated during the month, and parameters for the disks, number of transactions, and outbound data transfer quantity. The estimated monthly total (US$137.24 in the example shown here) is shown at the bottom right.
