A 50-inch model of the Surface Hub 2S is planned to become available for U.S. customers in June 2019. Surface Hub devices are stand-alone conferencing and remote collaboration systems intended for use with Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams. Surface Hub 2 provides enhancements over the first-generation Surface Hub, including a higher resolution display and camera, and the capability to upgrade the computing hardware to take advantage of future enhancements.
Surface Hub 2S will initially be available in a 50-inch model (US$8,999) that offers a 4K display and 4K video conferencing camera, as well as stereo speakers, an 8-element microphone array, and a Surface Hub 2 Pen for pen input directly on the Surface Hub 2S screen. Like the first-generation Surface Hub, Surface Hub 2S has an integrated full PC running a custom edition of Windows 10, with software that includes Teams for Surface Hub, Skype for Business, and Microsoft Whiteboard. The device will offer Miracast wireless display technology; Bluetooth, HDMI, DisplayPort, and NFC for connecting devices; and USB-C ports for connecting additional computer peripherals.
