Microsoft Foundry is an Azure platform service, consolidating agents, models, and tools with enterprise capabilities including tracing, monitoring, evaluations, and customizable setup configurations. The platform provides development services for building and orchestrating agents and management services through role-based access control (RBAC), observability, and policies under an Azure subscription.

Near-Term Updates and Roadmap (2026-2027)
Microsoft Foundry is seeing rapid evolution in line with the expected growth of AI and agents in the enterprise. Microsoft consolidated many of the Azure AI services together with the AI Foundry studio for developers and management capabilities for administrators under the Microsoft Foundry brand and included a new portal experience. Consequently, it is a mixed platform of mature technologies and new capabilities.
