Changes to Vice Presidents

Microsoft has promoted several new vice presidents since Oct. 2001 and changed the duties of some others. For an updated view of Microsoft’s organization, see the Feb. 2002 Directions on Microsoft OrgChart.

The changes are as follows:

  • Rogers Weed has been promoted to vice president of Windows product management, where he will oversee the marketing campaigns for Windows XP and other versions of the company’s desktop operating systems. Weed, who was formerly the general manager of marketing for the Mobility Group, replaces John Frederiksen. Frederiksen will remain with the company, but his new position has not been determined.
  • Gerri Elliott has been promoted to vice president of the Industry Solutions Group in the U.S. sales subsidiary, where she will oversee field sales, technical, and consulting personnel focused on vertical industries. Elliott replaces Dianne Gregg, who has moved into a new position as vice president of Leadership Initiatives, where she will identify current and future
