  • Azure Government lowers compliance barriers to cloud solutions for U.S. federal, state, and local government agencies and their partners.
  • It lacks some Azure services, which can limit porting of existing Azure solutions, and future service support is not predictable.

Azure Government delivers Azure cloud services with isolation, security, and standards certification that are not offered on the public Azure cloud (commercial Azure). This offering can help eligible U.S. government agencies and their partners deploy cloud-based solutions. However, many services available in commercial Azure are not yet available in Azure Government, and the arrival of Azure services in Azure Government is not entirely predictable or assured.
