Azure blockchain offerings include infrastructure management, templates, a token service, integration with Azure services, specialized tools from partners, and a development environment. The offerings would typically be used to create consortium blockchains, private blockchains, and blockchain applications.

The components include the following:

Azure Blockchain Service (in preview) provides infrastructure and consortium member management. The infrastructure component uses standard Azure services to simplify the configuration, deployment, and management of the underlying network (nodes) to support consortium blockchains. Consortium member management provides several authentication methods to regulate access and transactions from internal and external users.

Azure Blockchain Tokens (in preview) simplifies the process to tokenize physical and digital assets used in blockchain deployments and can help reduce the need to use third-party token providers. The service provides templates to help define, create, and manage tokens based on the standards of the Token Taxonomy Initiative, an open consortium of blockchain industry leaders.
