Analyst ReportMicrosoft 365 Communication Compliance
- Communication Compliance may help an organization monitor the implementation of its governance policies addressing inappropriate use of the organization’s messaging systems.
- Successful deployment relies on the organization understanding the risk of inappropriate messages and having governance policies in place to guide IT in the configuration of Communication Compliance policies.
- Supervision Policies, which Communication Compliance replaces, are deprecated and will cease operation after Aug. 2020.
Communication Compliance helps an organization monitor their Microsoft 365 messaging systems for inappropriate communications, including Exchange Online, Teams, and a limited collection of third-party messaging systems. For organizations that understand their communication governance risks and have implemented appropriate governance policies for their messaging systems, Communication Compliance may help monitor and find inappropriate messages for review and remediation. Configuration of Communication Compliance policies requires coordination between IT teams, who implement Communication Compliance’s policies, and human resources (HR) and legal departments, who must review and act on the messages Communication Compliance captures.
