  • System Center 2019 Update Rollup 2 brings bug fixes and new functionality to the suite of system management applications.
  • New capabilities are provided for Operations Manager, Virtual Machine Manager, and Data Protection Manager.
  • Configuration Manager continues to follow a different release and support life-cycle policy.
  • While System Center 2019 continues to receive updates and new features, Microsoft remained focused on developing Azure-hosted management technologies.

System Center 2019 Update Rollup 2 (UR2) became generally available on Aug. 4, 2020. The System Center software suite supports numerous management and monitoring tasks, focused on server and data-center management. This update continues the servicing model adopted with the release of System Center 2019 in Mar. 2019, when Microsoft discontinued the Semi-Annual Channel (SAC) release cadence for the System Center suite. New features and other servicing updates to System Center are now periodically offered in the form of update rollups, which do not require Software Assurance (SA) as SAC releases did.
