Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is the first offering of Microsoft’s extended detection and response (XDR) security service, which is fully designed and supported for use with the Microsoft GCC and DoD offerings for government agencies in the United States. It delivers FedRAMP High accreditation and includes tools and artifacts intended to help customers comply with FedRAMP. Previously, customers would have needed to use the commercial Microsoft Defender for Endpoint offering, which was not available in GCC clouds and does not fully meet federal compliance requirements. U.S. governmental agencies and organizations can license end users for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint as a part of Windows 10 Enterprise E5 or Microsoft 365 E5 or G5 suites, and license servers using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint for servers or Azure Defender for Servers. More information on Defender for Endpoint in GCC is available at https://docs.microsoft.com/windows/security/threat-protection/microsoft-defender-atp/gov
