  • Certain Azure PaaS application services can now be deployed outside of Microsoft-hosted Azure in other clouds and on-premises.
  • The capability could help customers meet regulatory, connectivity, and security requirements that they previously could not with the services.
  • It requires a monthly connection to Microsoft, has service limitations, and the post-preview pricing model is not known.

The Azure Arc hybrid management service gets a new feature, in preview, that allows five Azure application services to run outside of Azure data centers: App Service, Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid, and API Management.

Why Host Services Outside of Public Azure?

Certain customers have been unable to deploy solutions or portions of solutions on Microsoft-hosted Azure because of requirements to host them on-premises or in other clouds or hosting facilities.
