Microsoft Cloud App Security (MCAS) is the last of the Microsoft 365 hosted security services to become available as a part of Microsoft’s Government Community Cloud (GCC), GCC High, and Department of Defense (DoD) offerings for government agencies and their partners in the United States. This release delivers FedRAMP High accreditation and includes tools and artifacts intended to help customers comply with FedRAMP. Previously, customers would have needed to use the commercial MCAS offering, which was not available in GCC clouds and does not fully meet federal compliance requirements. U.S. governmental agencies and organizations, and their partners that qualify, can license end users for MCAS in several ways, including as a part of Microsoft 365 E5 or G5 suites, the Microsoft 365 E5 Security sub-suite, or the Microsoft 365 E5 Compliance sub-suite. More information on MCAS for Government is available at https://docs.microsoft.com/enterprise-mobility-security/solutions/ems-cloud-app-security-govt-service-description.
