Azure Data Factory is a cloud extract, transform, and load (ETL) service that enables source data to be transformed before being loaded into the destination.

The service has two design and deployment configurations (called modes) that vary significantly.

Native Mode

Native mode uses Microsoft-designed components and specialized connectors to help developers create ETL pipelines with minimal coding. Native mode will appeal to organizations looking for an ETL product that does not require coding expertise and in situations when they are using other Azure data management services that provide data or are the recipients of data.

Native mode has two parts to the UI:

The main low-code interface uses a graphical design interface to help developers create complex ETL pipelines. The service automatically creates the underlying code and deploys compute resources to execute the query and transformation, removing much of the complexity of building and managing infrastructure and software.
