  • Conditional launch checks mobile device health when a managed app is launched.
  • The feature can delete data, block apps, or warn users of actions needed to protect organizational data.

Conditional launch is an Intune capability that assesses the state of a mobile device and application before the application is launched, to help protect organizational data on Apple and Android mobile devices.

How Conditional Launch Works

Conditional launch is useful to vet the integrity of a device when an application (“app”) is launched, to ensure that the user running the app is allowed to access organizational data delivered by the app.

For example, an administrator might create a conditional launch policy for iPhones and iPads to ensure that the devices are not jailbroken before a user is allowed to access data in Microsoft Word or Excel. In this example, the administrator can have the conditional launch policy either block access, preventing the user from accessing any organizational data, or wipe organizational data from the device completely.
