  • The Azure Machine Learning service can now be deployed anywhere, which could eliminate compliance, security, and latency barriers for using the technology.
  • Deployment outside of Azure is offered through Azure Arc and requires a Kubernetes cluster.
  • An Azure account is still required to manage non-Azure deployments of Azure Machine Learning, so it cannot be run without subscribing to the service.

Azure Arc enabled Machine Learning allows customers to host compute resources for training and deploying machine learning (ML) models outside of Azure, including on-premises locations and other clouds, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS). The offering has overlapping functionality with the Machine Learning module of Azure IoT Edge, but that module can only be used to deploy models outside of Azure and not train them.

Azure Machine Learning Overview

Azure Machine Learning is a set of services and tools for building, deploying, and maintaining ML models that can be used by applications. The offering lets teams work with all aspects of ML in a centralized environment while using popular open-source frameworks, libraries, and languages.
