Introduction

Most Microsoft 365 services can be used with Windows, macOS, iOS/iPadOS, and Android, but the capabilities offered by each service aren’t consistent across those platforms.
It’s important to understand these two potential scenarios when considering licensing and deployment of Microsoft 365 management and security services:

  • Most Microsoft 365 services still offer the broadest capabilities when managing Windows desktop clients
  • A handful of services offer similar capabilities regardless of the endpoint

Cost considerations make it important to consider the devices you need to manage when you’re considering Microsoft 365 services – particularly at the E5 tier. Each of the seven reports in this kit examines the capabilities that a different Microsoft 365 service offers to each platform it supports.
