  • Power Pages replaces Power Apps portals as a tool to create low-code Web sites for prototyping or working with customers and partners.
  • The new service offers better workflow for designers through a new design studio and for professional developers through Visual Studio Code.
  • Its new Per-User license model poses less risk of runaway usage charges, but it could overcount users or create licensing problems for data sources.

Power Pages is a low-code Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that lets organizations create, host, and administer external-facing business Web sites based on the Power Platform. It is best suited for prototyping sites or for organizations that need to expose subsets of internal data to specific partners or customers. Power Pages evolved from and replaces Power Apps portals, and existing portals can be migrated to Power Pages. However, customers will need to recalibrate licensing because Power Pages has adopted a new Per-User license model that could affect costs.
