Charts & IllustrationsAzure Stack HCI Support Timeline
Customers must upgrade existing Stack HCI deployments to 22H2 by Apr. 12, 2023, to remain supported. The accompanying chart shows supported versions (feature updates) of Azure Stack HCI and the date when support ends for each version.
Stack HCI versions are delivered as feature updates annually in the second half of the calendar year, and they are supported until six months after the next feature update becomes available, offering approximately 18 months of support for each version. Microsoft provides monthly quality and security updates for Stack HCI. Customers must apply updates within six months of release to remain supported. Thus, if Stack HCI 23H2 becomes available in Oct. 2023 (as shown here), Stack HCI 22H2 will leave support in Apr. 2024.
Organizations must use a supported version of Stack HCI with a persistent connection to Azure for billing purposes to retain full capabilities.
Stack HCI 22H2, released in Oct. 2022, is the most recent version. The next version of Stack HCI is likely to be Stack HCI 23H2, with general availability in late 2023. Stack HCI 21H2, delivered in Oct. 2021, will no longer be supported after Apr. 12, 2023, and Stack HCI 20H2, delivered in Dec. 2020, left support in Apr. 2022.
