  • Cloud Video Interop can save money on conference-room equipment and other devices for customers moving to Teams.
  • Cloud Video Interop is offered only as part of third-party interoperation solutions from Microsoft partners.

Interoperability solutions enable conference-room devices designed for other services to work with Teams and allow Teams Rooms devices to join meetings hosted by other services. For example, a partnership between Cisco and Microsoft will result in certification of some Cisco meeting-room devices for Teams Rooms, and Teams Rooms–certified devices can join Zoom and Webex meetings via Direct Guest Join. These kinds of solutions can help preserve existing investments in conference-room hardware and reduce the need for additional devices. However, partner solutions that leverage Microsoft’s Cloud Video Interop (CVI) service are intended and priced for large fleets of high-end meeting devices. Similarly, the capability to join Zoom and Webex meetings is available only for Teams Rooms–certified devices, which most organizations are still adopting.
