  • Power Apps, Power Automate, and other services will roll out improvements on a six-month cadence.
  • Upcoming changes continue to move Power Platform services away from “citizen developers” toward professionals and teams.
  • Data connectivity, professional development, enterprise administration, and Teams support all get enhancements in the mid-2023 roadmap.

Power Platform components, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse, have aligned their roadmap release cycle with that of Dynamics 365, issuing a six-month, forward-looking “release wave” twice annually. Power Platform 2023 Release Wave 1 is not a single event, but rather marks a six-month period during which new features will arrive as often as every week. The features and changes discussed here are expected to be released or made available for preview from Apr. through Sept. 2023. The Power BI roadmap for 2023 was previously covered in “Power BI Roadmap 2023: More Data Options” on page 20 of the Apr. 2023 Update.
