  • Microsoft Commercial Marketplace storefronts help customers find services that build on Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365.
  • The two main storefronts, Azure Marketplace and AppSource, target different audiences.
  • Testing and certification requirements vary, adding work to publishers and leaving customers to assess risks of adopting marketplace offers.

Microsoft Commercial Marketplace consists of Web storefronts, back-end technology, transaction engines, and marketing processes for enterprise offerings that build on Microsoft cloud services. Organizations could speed development and enhancement of their own solutions by exploiting the thousands of offerings in the marketplace, many of which can be evaluated with no charge. Publishers, such as ISVs, could use the storefronts for new marketing opportunities. Understanding the supported offer types and their publishing processes can help customers determine how to search the stores and plan solutions.

(The Microsoft Commercial Marketplace and its storefronts are separate offerings from the consumer-based Microsoft Store that is typically accessed through the Windows client.)
