Charts & IllustrationsOn-by-Default Office 365 Services
Microsoft often releases new services as part of Office 365 subscriptions or adds existing services to Office 365. The chart shows Office 365 services that are on by default, the functionality each service provides, whether the service can be disabled, and if so, how it can be disabled. (All of the services can be disabled globally by PowerShell script.)
Certain services can only be enabled or disabled on a per-user basis. This can usually be accomplished by an administrator through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center (through the Users menu) or by iterating through a list of users in a tenancy within a PowerShell script. These services include Flow, Planner, PowerApps, Power BI, and Yammer.
A second set of services can be turned on or off globally for an Office 365 tenancy, but not for individual users. Office 365 Video and Office Graph (and Delve, which requires Office Graph) are in this category. The settings to turn these services on and off could be located in several places, such as the Microsoft 365 Admin Center (through the Settings menu) or the SharePoint Online tenant administrator screen.
