Charts & IllustrationsAnnounced Azure Retirements Proliferate
Azure retirement announcements have recently arrived in batches. This list provides recent, but not all, announcements that require customer action such as migration processes or code updates. Some retirements remove support for older language and framework versions while others discontinue features or tools or cancel entire services. Most retirements are addressed with newer capabilities that customers can employ so that functionality is not lost.
Several announcements have been posted on certain days in recent months without a stated pattern of if and when such batches may continue to arrive. The retirement dates give customers varying amounts of time to address the changes; customers have one to three years to handle most of the retirements, but some were announced with much less notice.
(Directions on Microsoft presents this list to demonstrate a recent wave of Azure retirements, but an ongoing refreshed list is not planned.)
