Azure Load Testing is a service that load-tests applications hosted in Azure and elsewhere. It generates activity (loads) against target applications using Apache JMeter. The service could help teams do load testing more frequently and earlier in development cycles, increasing opportunities to find load-related problems before deployment to production.

Product: Azure Load Testing

Near Term (2025–2026)

Other recent updates include the following:

  • AI analysis of test runs, in preview, helps identify patterns in test results speeding root-cause analysis of performances issues so remedies can be determined
  • Support for scheduled test runs
  • Using multiple JMeter files in the same test, which can save the work of consolidating JMeter files and enable a modular approach where files from different sources are used for a test
  • Locust integration; Locust is a popular Python-based performance testing framework

Long Term (Beyond 2026)

Possible updates include availability in more Azure regions and more integration with Copilot for Azure to enable improved natural language interactivity with the service, such as the ability to direct the Copilot to create and run tests.
