Office Web Apps do not offer the same features as the Office 2010 desktop applications. When used in conjunction with a SharePoint 2010 server, Office Web Apps offer browser-based read-write access to Office files stored on that server. In most cases, Office Web Apps offer a subset of Office 2010 features, with one exception: Excel Web App supports simultaneous editing (“coauthoring”) while Excel 2010 does not. This chart shows some differences. A checkmark means the feature is fully supported, and a blank box means the feature is missing. Partial support is noted in the text.
