Although the core features of SBS 2008 and SBS 2011 Standard (such as Windows Server, Exchange, and SharePoint) have been updated to the latest versions, other features have been dropped. The most notable feature that is no longer included with SBS is antimalware for the OS, file system, and Exchange, although OEMs will likely bundle a trial version of some antimalware product on the server. Essentials customers will still need some antimalware software to protect the OS and file system for the on-premises server, but off-premises services will likely be protected by the hoster.
