Other Great Plains Solutions

Although accounting and finance modules form the core of Microsoft Great Plains offerings (see the chart “Accounting and Finance Solutions“), the company has expanded into e-commerce, field service, customer relations management (CRM), supply chain management (SCM), manufacturing, and human resources (HR). Modules in these solution areas are usually sold to businesses that have purchased or plan to purchase Great Plains’ accounting and finance solutions.

Some modules are sold as part of multiple solutions, although each module is only listed once in the following chart, based on the primary function it serves.

As with the accounting and finance solutions, the eEnterprise line contains the greatest range of modules across all solution areas. Dynamics, for mid-sized businesses, lacks modules in most of these areas, with the exception of HR. Great Plains bought Solomon in May 2000 primarily to bolster its offerings for mid-sized businesses in e-commerce, SCM, manufacturing, and field service management.
