Three critical and four important updates were issued in Oct. 2005 for Windows and Exchange. One of the critical Internet Explorer vulnerabilities has already been exploited by publicly circulating code, and another critical vulnerability for MSDTC and COM+ could allow a Zotob-like exploit. In Sept. 2005, Microsoft re-released Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 SP4 to address several application compatibility problems, such as Office being unable to write files to a floppy disk after the update was installed. This update consists of previously released recommended, critical, and security updates for Windows 2000 rolled into one convenient package.
