One critical update was issued in Nov. 2005 for the graphics rendering engine in Windows. In addition, Microsoft released a security advisory for a cumulative security patch to Internet Explorer, which was released in Oct. 2005, but caused problems for customers who had changed the default permissions on some directories. Another security advisory, for Macromedia Flash, was released because the third-party software was included with several versions of Windows.
