Commerce Server 2002 left Mainstream support in July 2008. Extended support will be available through 2013; in this phase, Microsoft provides paid support (including custom hotfixes, if included in the customer’s support contract) and free hotfixes for some security vulnerabilities. However, it does not provide free nonsecurity hotfixes and does not issue further service packs.

Commerce Server 2002 Feature Pack 1 (FP1) introduced a new Business Desk user interface for catalog and discount management, which subsequently became the primary user interface in Commerce Server 2007. FP1 conforms to the same support dates as Commerce Server 2002, although it was released more than two years later.
