The accompanying chart lists availability date, pricing and licensing details, and technology components included in Small Business Server (SBS) 2003, SBS 2003 SP1, and SBS 2003 R2.
Both Standard and Premium Editions of all three versions use the same Client Access License (CAL), so existing customers who upgrade to R2 do not need to replace their existing SBS 2003 CALs. Both SBS Edition packages include 5 CALs; additional CALs are available in 5- and 20-packs for approximately US$100 per CAL.
ISA Server 2006 is expected to be available in Sept. 2006, a month after SBS 2003 R2, but there are no plans to provide this latest version of ISA Server as a free update to SBS 2003 R2 Premium Edition customers.
