Microsoft Project Management Tools

Although Project is Microsoft’s main project and portfolio management system, several Microsoft products have some project management capabilities. Capabilities of commonly used products and their features applicable to project management are shown here. For example, Exchange and Outlook can be used for assigning and managing tasks and can be accessed with a Web browser via Outlook Web Access (OWA). Similarly, Project Web Access (PWA) allows teams to access project information from a Project Server via a browser. Using an Integration Feature Pack, Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (VS TFS) can be connected with Project Server, allowing software development projects to be managed using the corporate project and portfolio management system.
