A series of manageability features included in the unified Windows Store, to be released alongside Windows 10, are intended to make the Windows application platform more appealing to businesses. The Windows store is a Microsoft-hosted marketplace for applications. The upcoming Store changes improve how Windows Store applications are acquired, deployed, managed, and licensed, and unify the Store across phones, tablets, and desktops running the forthcoming OS. Organizations that have not yet moved to Azure Active Directory (AAD) or Intune may find themselves needing to do so in order to help users make the most of these new enhancements to the Windows Store.

Windows Store Application Management

The final release of Windows 10, expected in the third quarter of 2015, will include several features to help organizations acquire, deploy, and manage Windows Store applications. The new Windows Store will offer a level of management functionality that was not possible with the earlier versions for Windows Phone and Windows 8.1. Administrators will be able to more tightly manage the Windows Store, controlling how users access the Store itself as well as managing application distribution.
