Office 365 plans deliver services for e-mail, collaboration, communication, search, and other functions with features to aid compliance, management, and security. The diagram summarizes Office 365 software and services delivered in the E1 and E3 plans for enterprises as of July 2015. It also shows major components of E5, a new plan that should be available by the end of 2015. (An expanded E1 plan subsumed the former E2 plan, and the existing E4 plan will be retired by the end of 2015.)

Office

Office Online Microsoft-hosted applications enable users to create and edit Office documents from a browser, without Office installed on the client.

Office 365 ProPlus delivers Office suites for Windows PCs and for Macs on a Per-User subscription basis.

Office mobile applications enable users to create and edit Office documents on iOS and Android devices; however, commercial use of the Office mobile applications requires E3 or a similar plan that includes the Office suite.

Exchange

Exchange Online offers e-mail, calendars, contacts, and tasks, currently based on Exchange Server 2013.
