Charts & IllustrationsInfoPath and SharePoint Designer Discontinued
The InfoPath forms application and SharePoint Designer customization tool have been discontinued, and Office 365 support for them could end at any time. Shown here are the support dates for recent versions of InfoPath, SharePoint Designer, and SharePoint Server 2016 on-premises.
InfoPath is a client application for designing electronic forms. Forms can be filled out in the client or published to SharePoint to be filled out in a browser. The Office 365 ProPlus subscription suite and Office 2016 Professional Plus do not include InfoPath. However, organizations can install InfoPath 2013 separately alongside these suites.
SharePoint Designer is a client application for customizing SharePoint sites, particularly for creating workflows. SharePoint Designer 2013 SP1 is the last version of the application.
Both InfoPath and SharePoint Designer are currently supported with SharePoint Online, the Microsoft-hosted Office 365 service based on SharePoint Server. However, Microsoft has not said how long SharePoint Online will support them. Normally, the company only supports client software with Office 365 services through the software’s Mainstream support period. For InfoPath 2013 and SharePoint Designer 2013, Mainstream support ends July 13, 2021.
