  • A set of new Azure APIs for enterprise organizations could help track costs and understand their overall Azure use.
  • These APIs should be useful for reporting, custom applications, BI, and chargeback purposes.

Enterprise Azure APIs offer a level of basic cost and usage reporting using Power BI, and organizations can build more comprehensive Azure usage reporting or billing solutions.

Consumption and Charge APIs

Microsoft refers to this set of new APIs as the Consumption and Charge APIs, and it includes five REST-based APIs. Customers will most likely use the APIs as a group, depending on the solution they are building.

The new APIs include the following:

Balance and Summary provides a monthly summary of information on all current enrollment balances, as well as new purchases and marketplace charges. It includes adjustments or overage charges applied to the enrollment balance.
