The Office 365 ProPlus suite is regularly updated with new features, security updates, and bug fixes. Users subscribe to one of at least five different release channels of the suite at any time. This timeline shows the major versions released to each channel (in black boxes) and the minor builds (in white boxes) released to each channel during the first six months of 2018.

The Semi-Annual Channel provides two stable versions per year, in January and July. (This cycle began after the Sept. 2017 release, shown here.) At least two versions are always supported for users on this channel.

The Semi-Annual Channel (Targeted) is updated twice a year, in March and September. After about four months, these versions move to the Semi-Annual Channel and leave support on the Semi-Annual Channel (Targeted).

The Monthly Channel provides a new version once a month, and more frequent interim builds to address bugs and stability issues. Twice a year, a Monthly Channel version is promoted to the Semi-Annual Channel (Targeted); other Monthly Channel versions reach their end-of-life when the successive version is released.
