For users with macOS devices that need Microsoft’s Office productivity applications, the Office 365 User Subscription Licenses (User SLs) that include the Office suite allow users to install and run the Office suite on devices running macOS or Windows. The suite of software installed on Windows is named Office 365 ProPlus, while the suite of software installed on macOS is named Office for Mac.

Understanding Office for Mac

Business customers typically license Office for Mac as a part of Office 365 and receive regular updates to the suite that includes both new features and fixes to the software. Office for Mac is supported on recent versions of macOS and is available as a bundled suite from Microsoft or stand-alone applications in the App Store for macOS. Installation and servicing options vary depending on how Office for Mac is deployed.
