Universal Print is a Microsoft 365 feature that replaces Windows Server print server functionality with an Azure hosted service providing print job queuing, printer management and reporting, and printer device provisioning (via Intune). The service could be useful for organizations that want to minimize or eliminate on-premises Windows Server infrastructure or support network-connected print devices in remote locations or branch offices. In private preview since Mar. 2020, Universal Print will be available in public preview, at no additional cost, to select Microsoft 365 subscribers starting with Microsoft 365 E5 subscriptions in July 2020, and Microsoft 365 E3 subscriptions in Aug. 2020.
