Places core features are included at no additional cost in most Microsoft 365 and Office 365 suites, while enhanced features require Teams Premium. This illustration shows the packaging of Places core and enhanced service plans and their associated per-User Subscription Licenses (User SLs).
Microsoft Places is an Office 365 service that expands the scheduling capabilities of Exchange Online to help workers arrange their schedule for in-person collaboration, assist in booking meeting and collaboration spaces, and provide employers and facilities managers with data to optimize use of office space to reduce costs.
Places core includes basic capabilities for location awareness and presence (in-office or remote) and offers features to coordinate meetings that are intended to purely in-person, remote, or hybrid. The Places core service plan will be included in Office 365 E3, E5, and F3 suites, and the Microsoft 365 suites that include those plans. Teams-specific features of Places, like the Places app in Teams, require a Teams license.
