Azure Event Grid is a cloud message broker service that is integrated with most Azure services. For example, an Azure Storage instance might use Azure Event Grid to report unexpectedly fast space consumption to a management application.
Event Grid also has become Microsoft’s message broker for MQTT, a publish-subscribe protocol for Internet of Things (IoT) systems of interconnected devices. IoT and MQTT play important roles in manufacturing, energy, transportation, and many other businesses that depend on real-time monitoring and control. Event Grid could be an important part of such solutions when they are deployed on Azure.
