Analyst ReportBizTalk Accelerator for RosettaNet 2.0
A set of add-on components to BizTalk Server 2002, the BizTalk Accelerator for RosettaNet 2.0, supports the latest RosettaNet supply chain integration standards. RosettaNet is a 400-member consortium (including Microsoft) that defines technical standards for carrying out business-to-business transactions and processes, such as ordering products, distributing product information, and submitting engineering change requests, with a particular focus on “high-tech manufacturing” businesses such as semiconductor and PC component vendors. The accelerator will help Microsoft’s expanded efforts to target such firms with a new dedicated sales force.
Version 2.0 of the Accelerator supports all RosettaNet process standards (called Partner Interface Processes, or PIPs) published as of July 2002, including updated PIPs for distributing master product lists and order status information. A new PIP Wizard in the Accelerator helps BizTalk Server support any new PIPs, or PIPs that companies have customized for their own business processes.
