Four important SharePoint Online features are scheduled for retirement in Apr. 2026; users need to take action to avoid disruption and minimize impact. The four:

SharePoint Add-In in SharePoint Online and Project Online. Organizations still using add-ins must migrate custom add-ins to the SharePoint Framework (SPFx) and replace or remove third-party add-ins before they stop working on Apr. 2, 2026. SharePoint Server can still use the app catalog for add-ins. SharePoint add-ins were custom and third-party extensions enhancing SharePoint Online capabilities, often supporting specific business requirements. SharePoint Add-Ins were deprecated in 2024 with installations from the Marketplace stopped on July 1, 2024, and the feature was removed from new tenants on Nov. 1, 2024 (Microsoft retirement page).

SharePoint 2013 workflow in SharePoint Online. Note: This change does not apply to SharePoint Server SE. Organizations still using SharePoint 2013 workflows in SharePoint Online must retire workflows or migrate to Power Automate or a third-party solution before they stop working on Apr. 2, 2026. SharePoint 2013 workflows often support business-critical processes, which may cause disruption to organizations if not remediated. SharePoint 2013 workflows were deprecated and disabled for new tenants in 2024 (Microsoft retirement page).
